Ballroom (Private Lessons)
Prepare for your wedding or other formal event with private or semi-private ballroom dancing
lessons. Up to 4 people for $45 an hour or 10 sessions for $35 an hour.
Salsa (Beginning)
Salsa dancing is a dance style associated with the salsa style of music now popular worldwide.
Salsa music has its origins sometime in the 1950s to 1970s, with the truly distinct salsa style
coming out of New York in the 1970s. The music fuses a number of Cuban styles, particularly the
son, but also draws from a number of other Latin American musical styles.

Stay after the lesson for an hour of free dance time to Latin music.

Christopher discovered his love for dance relatively late in
life, at the age of 30, promptly immersing himself in learning
all he could about Salsa, Ballroom, Swing and later,
Argentine Tango. He was lucky to find excellent teachers in
Kate and Gale at the Danceasy in El Cerrito, who were
protégés of the late Bob Knox, renowned in Bay Area dance
circles as a masterful dancer, teacher, and choreographer.
They taught Christopher that a strong foundation is more
important than learning “moves”, while at the same time
passing along decades of knowledge and their passion for
dance. Seventeen years and hundreds of hours of classes,
lessons, and training later, Christopher has realized his
dream of owning his own studio. At Serendipity he wants all
his students to feel comfortable, have fun, learn at the pace
they wish, and perhaps fall in love with dance the way he
did.
Christopher is a knowledgeable, patient teacher of all the
modern Ballroom dances, and specializes in Salsa and
Argentine Tango. His group classes are fun, instructive, and
inexpensive. If you prefer one-on-one, or want to learn at a
faster pace, he offers Private lessons for $45 for a full hour.
Getting married? Christopher can choreograph a wedding
dance, or just teach you basic steps so you can look elegant
rather than awkward on your big day! He offers a package
of 10 Private lessons for $350.
